FRONT RUNNERZ SUMMER ARTS CAMP

OVERVIEW

The Frontrunnerz Summer Arts camp is a 3 week intensive in the performing arts.  For 3 to 4 hours daily, students will be challenged to reach for their highest creative, spiritual and physical potential.  All of the classes in the camp are centered on growing deeper in Christ through physical expression, worship, prayer and studying the Word of God.  Classes offered include: Hip Hop Dance Technique, Contemporary Dance Technique, African Dance Technique, Choreodrama (Human Video), Poetry, and Songs of Praise.  In addition to the arts classes, students will engage in interactive Bible Studies, and Prayer and discussion sessions that will focus on the issues that teens deal with.  To top it all off, the students will have opportunities to fellowship and make new friends, and participate in a camp showcase where everyone will have a chance to show friends and family members what they learned.  The Frontrunnerz Summer Arts Camp is the place where The Arts and Christ come together to produce a harvest of youth with a passion for using their gifts to glorify God!  Why not register your student today?

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

AFRICAN DANCE TECHNIQUE

In this class, students will learn traditional African style movement and techniques.  Students will be challenged by complex rhythmic movements and combinations and will also learn some African dance terminology.  This style is perfect for high praise and pageantry and can be used in a number of different services and events.

HIP HOP DANCE TECHNIQUE

Students will be challenged by street style dance techniques and choreography.  This style helps to build movement vocabulary while instilling confidence, positive self image, and an appreciation for clean God centered Christian Rap music.  This style is great for youth and young adult services and events.  It is perfect for warfare, and praise.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE TECHNIQUE

This is a class in foundational dance technique and positions.  Students will learn how to dance with beauty, style and grace.  The technical aspects of dance such as jumps, leaps, turns, arm positions, and feet positions will be covered.  Students will learn how to dance with their entire body.

CHOREO-DRAMA (HUMAN VIDEO)

This is a class in drama with a focus on movement and dance.  Students will be able to use foundational acting skills such as character development, emotion, focus and motivation to tell stories and make songs come to life.  Here is where dance technique is minimized and passion is maximized.

MUSIC AND POETRY

In this class students will learn to sing along to some of today's popular praise and worship songs as well as some traditional praise tunes.  Students will also learn how to make rhythms with their body and percussion instruments.  In addition students will also learn to write  poems and personal "psalms" that can be recited through spoken word format.

PRAYER, DISCUSSION, AND BIBLE STUDY

These classes are the spiritual foundation for the entire program and are an absolute must.  Students will have the opportunity to study, discuss and pray together about a variety of topics from abuse to peer pressure to discipleship.  It’s all about feeding the Soul.

RECREATION AT THE Y

On Fridays, students will travel to the Kenosha YMCA where they will have an opportunity to do activities such as swimming, basketball and weight training.  This is simply a time for the students to just unwind and enjoy themselves.

 CAMP SHOW

At the end of the camp all students will be able to participate in a stage production that will showcase everything that they have learned throughout their time at camp.  This is an opportunity for the camp participants to "let their light shine" and get a taste of show business while bringing God glory through their gifts.
